Security developer, Tier-3, has appointed Betrusted as the first global partner for its Huntsman intrusion prevention system.
Betrusted will take the locally-developed product to large corporates clients and attempt to establish it in overseas markets.
Tier-3 managing director, Peter Woollacott, claimed the product was already being used by top secret government agencies in Canberra and Europe.
Betrusted's newly-appointed marketing manager, Jenny McLaughlin, told ARN her company was finalising a distribution strategy and would be taking the product to market within weeks.
Tier-3 uses Sydney-based Whitegold as a niche distributor. Direct resellers include Adelaide-based Vectra Corporation and MCR in Sydney.
"That will enable us to further our reach to high-end and global installations. We are looking to broaden offshore sales," Woollacott told ARN.
His 14-employee company – which includes mathematicians and scientists – has annual revenues of several million dollars but Wollacott expected significant growth in the next two years.
Woollacott said his channel was only six months and, although he was comfortable with the partners he had, especially on the East coast, he would like better coverage in Western Australia.
Betrusted, which last year bought Australian security services company, SecureNet, for $110 million, also offers products and managed security services from Baltimore Technologies and Ubizen.
