SYDNEY, Australia – Optima Technology Solutions (ASX:OPI), Australia’s largest manufacturer of personal computers, notebooks and servers, has launched its latest lightweight notebook that offers a range of superior capabilities to give mobile warriors and frequent travellers maximum mobility and versatility.

Optima’s Prolite K Series notebook is super slim, weighing only 1.9kg including an internal optical disk drive and standard travel battery. This compact lightweight design means that it is easy to transport and perfect for people that are always on the move.

The travel battery provides approximately two hours of continuous use, while an optional larger 8-cell Li-Ion battery pack runs for up to four hours.

This notebook’s mobility is enhanced by its wireless capabilities, as provided by Intel’s 855 family chipset and Intel Pro/Wireless 2100 Network connection (802.11b), which are essential for executives, travellers and even students that need to access the Internet, email and corporate resources from remote locations.

The Prolite K Series is one of the first notebooks to be launched in Australia with a wide-screen display. Featuring a 12.1” wide-screen liquid crystal display (LCD), this notebook allows for enhanced panoramic viewing that is ideal for both work and play – great for digital content creation, watching DVDs and multimedia presentations, or for working on documents such as spreadsheets.

“The Prolite K Series notebook is extremely price competitive offering significant savings when compared to other competitive models with similar features,” said Henry Lee, Optima Notebook Product Manager.

“As an Australian manufacturer, with branches throughout the country, we are not only able to supply reliable and affordable products such as these, but can also actively support our range of notebooks, PCs and servers via a nationwide supply and service network.”

The standard Prolite K Series, with an internal DVD/CDRW Combo drive, is available at the RRP of $2,499 inc GST. A second version of this model that features a DVD burner, capable of burning both CDs and DVDs, is also available for the RRP at $2,999 inc GST.

The Prolite K Series notebook can be purchased from Optima’s value-added resellers around Australia.
