“NetComm Custom DSL” program boosts broadband branding for ISPs

SYDNEY, May 5, 2004 – NetComm today launched its ADSL Customisation program for ISPs wishing to do an ‘image-makeover’ on broadband gear such as modems and routers.

Acknowledging the greater emphasis on aesthetics throughout the communications industry, NetComm is providing various design options to help ISPs improve their brand awareness.

"In this highly competitive and increasingly commoditised market, service and equipment providers now, more than ever, need to find new ways to differentiate themselves,” said NetComm sales and marketing director Mark Jones.

ISP customisation builds on a number of NetComm initiatives directed towards ISPs such as automatic, or “Easy-Config” configuration tools, video tutorials as well as dedicated local training and engineering support resources.

Several Australia ISPs have already expressed interest in the “NetComm Custom DSL” program with national ISP Netspace and NetComm last week announcing the industry’s first agreement for the supply of ISP-branded ADSL equipment.

The Netcomm/ Netspace ADSL modem features a sleek compact design with eye-catching red casing. Inside is the NetComm NB1300+4 ADSL modem featuring industry-best performance with 4-port Ethernet as opposed to single port USB functionality.

“People are starting to look for more contemporary designs in their technology and a red modem just adds something new and different to the standard grey and black,” said Netspace managing director Stuart Marburg.

The NetComm/Netspace ADSL modem, launched onto the Australian market last week, is now supplied as standard equipment to all new Netspace broadband customers. NetComm is the exclusive supplier of modems, wireless networking, network cards and routers to Netspace.

“NetComm’s Custom DSL” program marks the beginning of an important new trend in the Australian broadband marketplace whereby carriers and equipment providers work more closely to deliver complete solutions to their customers,” Mr Jones said.
