EDGE 2020 Goes Virtual
<p>Sydney, Australia, June 10 2004 – Leading global solutions company, LogicaCMG today announced it has signed a three-year multi-million dollar outsourcing agreement with MTU Detroit Diesel Australia Pty. Ltd (MTUDDA), a part of the Business Unit DaimlerChrysler Off-Highway. The agreement includes the transition of all outsourced IT requirements for MTUDDA from the incumbent provider to LogicaCMG, set-up of on-site support and an entire IT hardware refresh.</p>
<p>“Previously, we ran on a totally outsourced model. In choosing a new outsourcing provider, we were looking for a true partner. This time we wanted to sit in the driver’s seat when it came to decisions regarding our IT requirements. We wanted to retain control, but with the support of an expert technology services organisation. LogicaCMG came to us with a flexible, supportive and responsive proposal, and we’re pleased to have begun this new partnership with them.” Rocky Cassaniti, national IT manager, MTUDDA, said.</p>
<p>After working through a 30-day transition from the incumbent outsourcer, LogicaCMG partnered with MTUDDA to create a strong on-site support team, covering all infrastructure requirements, via a fully manned help-desk.</p>
<p>“LogicaCMG’s help desk solution has provided MTUDDA with flexibility, functionality, stability and security – all with a local face. The team is permanently on-site and importantly made up of both LogicaCMG and MTUDDA staff.” Mr Cassaniti continued.</p>
<p>Currently, LogicaCMG is working with MTUDDA on the largest component of the agreement – an entire IT hardware and software refresh. Over the next six months LogicaCMG will look to replace all desktop and laptop computers, printers, servers and operating systems across 19 MTUDDA locations nationally. MTUDDA’s communication infrastructure, such as PABX system and routers, is also being upgraded. In addition, LogicaCMG is working on setting up a VOIP network for MTUDDA.
There will be a state by state roll out of the product refresh with an initial pilot occurring at Kings Park, Sydney where the new training centre is located.</p>
