Samsung Electronice Australia add new model to their Colour Laser Printer Line-up, the CLP550N

SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS AUSTRALIA ADD NEW MODEL TO THEIR COLOUR LASER PRINTER LINE-UP, THE CLP-550N.</p>
<p>CLP-550N BRIEF SPECIFICATIONS:</p>
<p>The Samsung CLP-550N has been released to compliment (not replace) the existing CLP500 colour laser printer, prints in colour at 5 pages-per-minute and in mono at 20 pages-per-minute, with a maximum print resolution of 1200dpi. It comes standard with 128MB of RAM, Postscript 3 and PCL-6 drivers, plus a 10/100BaseTX (Ethernet) network card. This network card is Ethernet only (not Ethernet and WiFi).
However, with the introduction of the CLP-550N, the CLP-500 has been repositioned (see pricing below).</p>

<p>DUPLEX (DOUBLE-SIDED) PRINTING:
The CLP-550N comes with auto-duplexing (the ability to print on both sides of a sheet of paper), as standard. The auto-duplexer can be activated by the push of one button or via the print driver and has been built-in without increasing the bulk or footprint of the CLP-550N.</p>
<p>PRODUCTIVITY:
The CLP-550N comes complete with a 250 sheet paper cassette, plus a 100 sheet
multipurpose feeder. An optional 500 sheet cassette will be available late September 2004.</p>

<p>CONNECTIVITY AND COMPATIBILITY
The connectivity of the CLP-550N is via Ethernet and USB 2.0 (USB 1.1 compatible). and is both Windows and Macintosh (OS 8.6+) compatible.</p>
<p>COST PER PAGE:
The running cost of the CLP-550N is amongst the lowest in its class. At list price, the cost per page of a 5% cyan, 5% magenta and 5% black page is just 18.8 cents-per-page*. Most competitors cost 20-26 cents-per-page to print The toner yields for the CLP-550N are:
Cyan 5,000 pages @ 5% coverage
Magenta 5,000 pages @ 5% coverage
Yellow 5,000 pages @ 5% coverage
Black 7,000 pages @ 5% coverage</p>
<p>Please note however, that the CLP-550N ships with starter toner cartridges:
Cyan 1,500 pages @ 5% coverage
Magenta 1,500 pages @ 5% coverage
Yellow 1,500 pages @ 5% coverage
Black 2,000 pages @ 5% coverage</p>
<p>*cost-per-page should include toner, imaging drum, transfer kits, and any other consumable item (other than paper).</p>
