GWA International Signs ERP Agreement with Intentia Australia

 • 25 October, 2004 16:08

Movex Java Chosen as Future Proof, Enterprise Software Platform for GWA Businesses

GWA International Limited (GWA) has sealed a deal worth over AUD$10million with Intentia Australia, that will see roll-out of Movex 12Java across the organisation over the next five years.

The two companies have entered into an agreement that will make Intentia a key supplier of enterprise software systems across the GWA group.

GWA is the parent company of high profile successful business brands that cover areas such as bathroom products, garden equipment and hot water systems - including Caroma, Dorf Clark, Gainsborough, Dux Hot Water, Sebel, Stylus and Rover.

GWA decided to reassess the technology needs of the entire group after one of its divisions - Dux Hot Water - selected Intentia as a software provider during an independent review in 2002.

A key development driver was GWA’s recognition that its current disparate mix of group-wide applications – the result of business acquisitions over time – were not cost effectively sustainable and could not support the future direction of the business.

As a result, the Group formed an agreement with Intentia to progressively replace its existing legacy systems with the Movex solution, across its various business units.

The initial agreement will include provision of a GWA corporate licence and implementation of Movex 12Java at Dux. It is then expected that all businesses within the group will be converted to Movex within five years, through a stepped roll out.

Key factors in GWA’s selection of Intentia included the broad and flexible functionality demonstrated by Movex as well as its basis in modern, open standards Java technology, which provides a protected technology platform capable of cost-effectively supporting future business requirements
