Microsoft Showcases Enterprise Solutions at Gartner Symposium

<p>Sydney, Australia – 16 November 2004 – Microsoft Australia today announced its comprehensive presence at Gartner Symposium in Sydney, to be held 16-19 November 2004. Microsoft, located at Premiere Booth 2, will have on display a wide range of solutions, participate in a Gartner facilitated panel debate and present several sessions outlining offerings for enterprise customers.</p>
<p>Recognising the value and importance of this event, Simon Witts, Corporate Vice President, Enterprise &amp; Partner Group, and George Stathakopoulos, Director, Microsoft Product Security, will visit Australia to join the local Microsoft executives and participate in various sessions at the Symposium. This brings to a total of six the number of representatives, drawn from across Microsoft’s operations, who will be presenting at the event.</p>
<p>Mr Witts travels to Australia to participate in a panel debate to discuss “What will fuel the Intelligent Enterprise and how will you measure success?” The debate promises to be an invigorating and insightful exchange with Mr Witts contributing his thoughts on the elements that constitute an intelligent enterprise.</p>
<p>Mr Stathakopoulos will address Symposium attendees regarding security, during which he will outline the need for a shift in focus to prevention, resiliency and defence. Mr Stathakopoulos will also highlight the case for a holistic approach to security whereby the system, policy, process and management must be viewed in conjunction with technology as key elements in prevention.</p>
