Gen-i CEO, Garth Biggs, has been appointed to head up Telecom's solutions team in Australia.
Telecom won't confirm the appointment, but sources claim a barebones statement was on the company Intranet last week. An announcement on Biggs' future role will be made public later.
Biggs' formal title in the new role has yet to be announced but it appears that he will manage Telecom Advanced Solutions in Australia. Telecom hopes Gen-i and TAS will do $200 million in business in Australia over the next year.
When Telecom bought Gen-i earlier this year, it said Biggs would stay with the company until December 31, However, CIO Mark Ratcliffe said at the time that he hoped a future role within Telecom would be found for Biggs.
Biggs was not available for comment.
Ratcliffe himself is the subject of rumour among TAS and Xtra staff. It is claimed that he will soon relinquish the role of CIO to move to a more business-focused position. However, Telecom denies this.
