Sanyo Releases FOXTEL Digital Compatible Widescreen TV.

 • 15 April, 2004 17:05

15 April, 2004…..Sanyo has announced it will sell a new 66cm Stereo Flat Widescreen TV that will be fully compatible with FOXTEL’s new Digital service. The Sanyo TV is one of the first of this kind on the Australian market with an AUTO SWITCHING SCART connection that is also employed by the new FOXTEL Digital set-top-unit. This means when the Sanyo TV is connected to the FOXTEL Digital set-top-unit, using a SCART to SCART cable, the SANYO set will automatically switch to the correct image format. The image will not be stretched nor will it require adjustment from the remote control.

Consumers who purchase the new Sanyo set will still require the FOXTEL Digital set-top-unit to be connected to their television to enjoy the array of services offered by FOXTEL Digital. FOXTEL Digital will continue to work on any existing television set.

From the first week of April, the 66cm set (model CP28WF2) will be available from Big W, Dick Smith PowerHouse, Kmart and Target, priced at $699.00RRP. Viewing widescreen format with subscription TV and DVD’s is now an affordable pleasure."
