Raritan has announced the new UMT Series II stackable keyboard/video/mouse (KVM) management appliance will be available in Australia from April. Named Paragon II in overseas markets, the switch provides new point-and-click administration capabilities and seamless connectivity to servers from inside and outside the datacentre. UMT Series II provides full keyboard and mouse control of servers through direct out-of-band KVM connections, as well as via the Internet. The higher-port density of UMT Series II, which supports up to 128 servers and devices per appliance, enables more than 50 per cent additional servers/devices to be managed from a single unit, reducing the number of KVM switches required in large data centres, where space is at a premium. In addition, the switch’s new stacking architecture simplifies KVM cabling between tiers by replacing multiple pass-through cables with a single expansion cable — saving up to 32 cables per switch. The switch is currently available in 32- and 64-port form factors and is suitable for rack or shelf mounting. The UMT Series II will be distributed by KVM Australia.
RRP: From $3900 to $15,000.
