Niche server distributor, Digicor, has launched an assault on the Western Australian market, opening a new Perth office.
It houses sales, accounting, technical and warehousing divisions.
Digicor’s WA state manager, Gregory Callaghan, said the distributor decided to set up a warehouse in Perth at the request of several of its large systems integrator customers which preferred to buy stock locally.
“Previously, WA customers had to travel to our Sydney or Melbourne offices to source product which was costly for them,” he said. “The WA market conditions were ripe for us to move in, so we did.”
Callaghan said Digicor would be able to offer its WA customers savings of up to 30 per cent when buying servers and related components.
The WA office, which opened in January, had greater sales success in its first months of operation than its Sydney office. Callaghan attributed this to the friendliness of the locals, which extended to the way they do business.
“I think the WA market is more accommodating to new companies getting off the ground and we’re very pleased about how we have been received,” he said.
