SecureData has acquired a controlling interest in SQL Services.
This will bring a dedicated management service for Microsoft SQL Server databases under the SecureData portfolio.
SQL Services delivers database administration services for Microsoft SQL Server, and according to SecureData managing director, Evan Penn, the acquisition was driven by Microsoft’s launch of the 64-bit version of SQL Server.
“SQL Server is becoming the database platform of choice across a broad range of mission critical applications including Business Intelligence solutions,” he said.
SQL Services CEO, Colin Andersen, will be relocating to Australia in December to head up the Australian SQL initiative.
SecureData’s partner in SQL Services is the Singapore-owned, Computerland New Zealand, the country’s third largest IT integration company.
“Computerland will become a strategic partner over the coming years as we jointly develop new service offerings and managed service technologies,” Penn said.
