Classic Blue Opens Adelaide Business Recovery Centre

 • 24 March, 2004 12:26

Today saw the opening of Classic Blue’s Adelaide Business Recovery Centre by the South Australian Minister for Infrastructure, Energy, and Emergency Services, The Hon Patrick Conlon MP.

Around 50 prominent South Australian government and corporate figures attended the opening and toured the centre. Feedback was very positive; attendees were glad to see that Business Recovery is finally being taken seriously in South Australia.

With existing centres in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, the Adelaide centre is Classic Blue’s fourth, providing a truly national reach.

Classic Blue purchased the data centre from the St George Bank in September 2003. It was built in the 1980s for the State Bank at a cost of more than $25 million. Since then it has housed EDS, BankSA, and St George.

According to Classic Blue’s Managing Director, Adrian Bogatez, the Adelaide centre provides SA and WA with a previously unavailable service. “Traditionally, South Australia and Western Australia had to seek business recovery services on the east coast. Now they have a state-of-the-art recovery centre right on their doorstep.”

“Under Minister Conlon’s leadership, the South Australian government has been encouraging business development and increased employment through investment in strengthened infrastructure. This centre reinforces those policies and is a boon for South Australian industry.”

The new centre accommodates a fully equipped alternate work environment for more than 300 people and provides extensive computing and communications facilities.
