PC distributor, Dicker Data, has been appointed as the sixth distributor for mobile computing accessories vendor Targus.
Dicker Data joins existing Targus distributors Tech Pacific, Ingram Micro, IT Wholesale (Cellnet), BMS Technology and Brightpoint.
Targus Australia national sales manager, David Hollis, said the appointment was in recognition of Dicker Data’s strength in the mobility market. Dicker Data distributes notebook computers manufactured by major tier one vendors including HP, Toshiba and NEC.
“The company has great rapport with smaller resellers, particularly on the east coast,” Hollis said. “When we ask small resellers who they prefer to do business with, they talk of Dicker Data’s reputation for customer service.”
Targus manufactures notebook bags and carry cases, cable locks and biometric security devices for notebook security, keyboards and mice, desktop monitor stands, connectivity products (cables and hubs) and external hard drives and floppy drives.
“Dicker Data’s strength in notebooks is undeniable,” Hollis said. “It makes sense for us to be closely aligned with the core technology with which our products are associated.”
