Distributor, Bluechip Infotech, has announced that it has signed an agreement to distribute products manufactured by Taiwanese vendor, ZyXEL, a company it considers one of the sleeping giants in the networking industry.
Bluechip intends to push the vendor's ADSL products, wireless products, switches and Internet Security Appliances into the SME and home market in Australia.
Bluechip managing director, Johnson Hsiung, said he considered ZyXEL’s products to be on par with other Taiwanese success stories such as Accton and D-Link.
He told ARN the vendor had seen a lot of success in Europe with its high-end telecommunications products and ADSL products, and had been a strong performer on the Taiwanese stock market.
“The company is very conservative,” he said. “They have never looked at this market [Australia] until now."
Hsiung said he hoped the vendor would contribute marketing resources to the Australian IT channel.
“We are already in discussions about promoting the products over the next six months,” he said. “We have dedicated a salesperson to [ZyXEL] products. We will take it step by step.”
While there were no formal certification processes for selling ZyXEL’s products in Australia as yet, Bluechip had committed to organising training for interested resellers, Hsiung said.
The distributor has already begun discussions with some third-party consulting companies to assist in this regard.
