Atomic gets a new lease on life

Web developer, Atomic Media, has launched a new services arm aimed towards the small to medium enterprise market.

The new company, known as NewLease, offers IT businesses the opportunity to lease IT products and services by the month.

For a set monthly fee, businesses can lease a full range of hardware, software, licences and management.

New platforms, software and management practices are automatically updated as they become available.

The business was born through the combination of market feedback and input from Atomic directors.

“We realised that there was a need for IT by the month, especially for software,” NewLease business development manager, Mandy Brown.

“Businesses are so often scalable. One month you’ll have 30 employees then the next you’ll have 20. That’s 10 copies of an expensive software package or hardware just sitting around. Then there’s the expense of constant software updating.”

The company has evolved from leasing out basic hardware and software, to offering ADSL and ISP communication products, web development, security and managed firewalls.

“It’s just like a monthly telephone or electricity bill,” Brown said. “Your IT network becomes a utility.”

The company has a service provider’s licence agreement with Microsoft, and has been predominantly working with Dell and HP hardware.

It is also offering reseller opportunities.

“We are currently open to discussion, and have a couple of partnerships on the go,” Brown said.
