Location software vendor, MapInfo, has recruited Jonathan Wright as its Asia-Pacific managing director. He replaces Gavin Lennox, who has returned to New Zealand after two years at the helm.
Wright said his first objective in his new role was to implement strategies to accelerate growth through both direct and indirect channels. Currently, 30 per cent of its regional business was generated through channel partners.
"Our Asia-Pacific business is performing strongly and I will ensure this momentum continues, but I want to especially focus on further strengthening customer satisfaction through our products and services," he said. "My focus for the channel is to grow existing partnerships and to ensure they have the appropriate support from MapInfo to fulfil customer needs."
Wright said the company was always on the look out for potential partners, which could complement its solutions. It was also after those with specific domain expertise that target key vertical markets.
"As the use of location intelligence solutions increases within certain verticals such as banking, finance, telecommunications and insurance, we are continuing to partner with companies that specialise in offering location intelligence solutions," he said.
Wright has been a part of the MapInfo management team for more than 10 years. He was recently the commercial director. This position has now been filled by Scott Read.
