Broadband prices get healthy - WestNet's $29.95 plan release

 • 23 February, 2004 15:43

WestNet is excited to announce the release of a new entry level ADSL plan.

The new “Lite” 256k/64k ADSL plan is priced at $29.95* and offers 200 MB of downloads, with an excess rate of 10 cents per megabyte capped at $59.95*. WestNet’s $29.95 plan is available with no contract and has a significantly cheaper excess rate than that of competitors. Once customers reach the $59.95 cap their connection is slowed to 72kbps.

“This is a very exciting time for the industry filled with new growth opportunities. However, it is also the time for service providers to take on more social responsibility and protect their members. It is often the case that members that are new to broadband unintentionally increase their usage therefore we feel it is important to protect our members from incurring large excess bills.” says Mr. Peter Brown, WestNet Managing Director.

“People that gain access to broadband services realise the great potential of the Internet. We are happy to be able to compete in this market and to offer this breakthrough price along with other providers”, says Mr. Brown.

*Metro only. Regional customers add $8.00, excess capped at $67.90.
The pricing is effective immediately, for more information please contact
