Progress Software Appoints New Vice President Asia Pacific

<p>Sydney, 18 February 2004— The Progress Company, an operating unit of Progress Software Corporation (Nasdaq: PRGS), and a leading supplier of technology for building the world’s best business applications, today announced the promotion of Larry DiLoreto to the position of vice president for the Asia Pacific Region, based in Sydney. In this role, DiLoreto is responsible for management and direction of all aspects of revenue generation including sales, services, support, marketing and education throughout Asia Pacific.</p>
<p>DiLoreto brings 19 years of successful software sales management and business knowledge to this position. He has extensive experience leading direct sales and Application Partner teams, as well as assisting Application Partners achieve significant growth. During his 11 years at Progress he has advanced into positions of greater responsibilities, from manager of U.S. East and Canada to director of direct end user operations for North America.</p>
<p>Among other achievements, DiLoreto has been an eight-time ProClub winner, exemplifying strong sales leadership abilities and exceptional performance in helping the Progress Company grow revenues. In both 2002 and 2003, sales managers in his region achieved company recognition for their successful track records. His teams consistently exceeded expected performance, winning awards including Worldwide Region of the Year.</p>
