UPS vendor, APC, is preparing to launch its Precision Air Management solution that will augment its InfraStruXure rack and cooling system.
InfraStruXure integrates power, cooling, and system management within a rack-optimised design suited to server-farm installations such as data centres and call centres.
To support the new plank of its InfraStruXure solution, APC is offering training on cooling to its InfraStruXure certified partners, and is working to develop customer opportunities, APC managing director, Leanne Dunnold, said.
“For the channel we’re creating the awareness and demand at the user level,” Dunnold said.
There are already six installations of the new solution in reference sites across Australia.
The first in a series of customer seminars began this month.
Distributors for the new solution are Data Power Systems Australia (DPSA) and Express Data.
DPSA sales manager, Jacques Tesson, said the distributor was approaching resellers with a view to retraining them to spot opportunities for the new cooling solution.
The solution could scale down to basic 4x4 metre server rooms, he said.
DPSA would offer onsite customer seminars hand in hand with resellers, Tesson said.
Site assessments for existing customers could allow resellers to identify opportunities by performing services such as checking the firmware was updated and when the UPS was last tested, he said.
Using the Precision air management solution, an alarm on the network could notify the system administrator by SMS or pager if a fault developed in the air conditioning, Tesson said.
