The Australian office of Seagull Software, which develops applications for connecting legacy systems to Web-based applications, has signed up its first distribution partner. Shanghai-based, Imon Technology, will distribute and support Seagull’s LegaSuite product in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau.
Managing director of Seagull’s Australian office, Ray Bradbery, said three more partnerships had been finalised and would be announced in the following weeks, one of which would be a local distributor.
Seagull opened a Sydney office in June 2003 to expand distribution partnerships and opportunities in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The US-based company has had partners in Australia for over 10 years, but did not have a regional presence until last year.
Imon, which builds business applications on its own J2EE platform, will add LegaSuite to its consultancy portfolio. "Most projects are moving in the direction of composite applications that require access to legacy systems," CEO of Imon Technology, Andrew Wong, said.
