NetReturn looks for partners to carry NetSuite

Net Return is looking for reseller partners to release its online small business application, NetSuite.

Almost half of all small businesses had no linked business software and more than half lacked ready access to company information, according to a Net Return small business survey conducted by ACNielsen.consult.

The results of the survey have spurred Net Return to seek partners for the release of NetSuite into the Australian market. The survey sampled business and IT decision makers at 178 small businesses across Australia.

It found that although businesses were investing in software, tracking inventory and tools for business reporting, the applications were not typically linked and the data was not shared across the applications.

Net Return marketing manager, Nigel Turner, said many SME’s could not afford high-end applications.

“Most SME’s do not have an IT department dedicated to manage the business’ applications,” he said.

NetSuite was designed to locally host accounting, inventory management, customer relationship and enterprise planning applications. In response to the ACNielsen.consult report, Net Return has launched NetSuite as an online service, which the company said effectively reduced the amount of in-house IT experts.

“The application was specifically designed for SME’s and it is a cheaper alternative to other applications, mainly because it is hosted online,” Turner said.

Ten customers are using NetSuite, including Adelaide-based reseller, TekNode.

Net Return managing director, Stuart McLean, said a priority for SME’s was to increase effectiveness through automated internal processes, linking information from different software applications and better management of customer information.

“SME’s quickly outgrow standalone low-end software, but can’t afford the expensive systems designed for bigger business,” he said.

He claimed the industry was moving to use IT rather than own it.

“The transition to online applications is a natural progression of the wider business trend,” he said.

“Not only is there no capital outlay upfront but the ongoing costs of managing the complexities of software disappear.”

The NetSuite system enables managers to have business data such as bank balance, sales leads and inventory on one screen, updated in real time.

It uses an Oracle database with all customers’ data locally hosted at the Telstra data centre in Australia.

Localised for Australian requirements

NetSuite is fully localised to support Australian statutory requirements, including:

  • Online generation of BAS and IAS statements for direct submission to the Australian Tax Office;
  • Industry specific tax codes;
  • Flexible COA structures that allow business to manage tax affairs in a way that suits their business and industry.
