A batch of Iomega's Jaz disks are to be replaced after it was found that a component did not meet Iomega's reliability requirements. Iomega says the affected disks cause performance and data degradation and should not be used.
Iomega estimates that about 9000 affected Jaz disks were distributed to the Asia-Pacific region, less than 1000 of which were sold to end users. Iomega says the affected disks were manufactured between March 13 and April 20, and purchases before March 24 are unlikely to be affected.
