Wireless Ethernet needs no licence

MELBOURNE - Short-jump Ethernet links between buildings can be handled by leased line, but that's not always feasible or cost effective. ADE's FastWave 890 Ethernet Microwave system will connect two sites at up to 14,880 packets/sec.

It acts as a completely transparent extension to an Ethernet backbone or segment. Depending on the type of microwave dish used, maximum span is 300m, 1000m or even up to 20km. The band used is around 24GHz, which doesn't need a Spectrum Management Authority (SMA) licence.
