SYDNEY, 28th January 2004 – In an optimistic start to the New Year, Lexmark today announced an immediate pr ice reduction on inkjet and laser printer cartridges due to the continued strength of the Australian dollar.

Following similar price reductions in June and October of last year and June 2002, Lexmark is offering further savings in Australia owing to the exchange rate. In line with Lexmark’s policy to pass on cost savings to customers wherever possible, a total price reduction of 30 per cent has been made on cartridges in the Lexmark inkjet and laser range in the last 18 months.

“Our customers are experiencing an immediate price impact as a result of the benefits we are gaining from the strong Australian dollar. This is the fourth time Lexmark has directly reduced the cost of printer cartridges in the past 18 months, with prices falling, by up to 30 per cent off its 2002 price,” said Henrik Stensfeldt, Managing Director, Lexmark, Australia and New Zealand. “This is a great way to start the New Year by using this opportunity to pass further savings on to our customers.”
