D-Link has opened its first office across the Tasman.
The decision to have a presence in New Zealand had been a long time coming, D-Link managing director, Domenic Torre, said.
“We have a commitment to this region,” he said. “The New Zealand market has been growing quite rapidly in the past few years, and by operating from Sydney we were not doing ourselves, or the NZ market, justice.”
The company has appointed Juliana Moss as New Zealand business manager.
“We expect that there will be at least one more person based in New Zealand by the end of the year,” Torre said.
D-Link has been selling into New Zealand for several years and operates through distribution partners Dove Electronics, Lan 1 and Tech Pacific.
“We have very stable distribution partners in this area, and so we have no intention at present to expand our distribution channel or sell direct into the channel,” Torre said.
The office is located in Auckland.
