mcr wins 4000-user deal with Ernst & Young

<p>SYDNEY, Aust. (January 14, 2003) – In one of the biggest content filtering sign-ups in the channel this year, Ernst &amp; Young has signed a 4000-user deal of SurfControl Content Filter via reseller mcr Computer Resources</p>
<p>The deal incorporating both SurfControl Web Filter and E-Mail Filter is among several major sign-ups by mcr this year, including John Fairfax &amp; Sons and the National Australia Bank.</p>
<p>SurfControl is the leading provider of Web and e-mail filtering software in the content security market, according to IDC. The SurfControl solutions are an integral part of mcr’s IT infrastructure solution stack.</p>
<p>According to mcr Product Manager Scott Thomas, the ability to offer enterprises both Web and e-mail filtering in the one package was a clear strength in a market that was becoming increasingly competitive.</p>
<p>Managing Director of SurfControl in Australia Charles Heunemann said that mcr’s achievements were indicative of the growth in SurfControl’s channel business over the past 18 months.</p>
<p>He said that Australia had surpassed other SurfControl operations in channel development and had its sights firmly focussed on generating more than 70% of invoicing through the channel.</p>
<p>IDC forecasts of a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for content filtering of 30 per cent globally over five years.</p>
