Double-digit Ethernet switch port shipment and revenue growth year-over-year continues at HP

The following is a release that has been issued in Singapore. In the local market, Dell ‘Oro Group doesn’t conduct tracking; it is done by IDC.

According to IDC Q3 2003 LAN Tracker research released in December 2003, HP ProCurve excelled in the Australian market with:

· #2 position in the total switching market in Q3 2003, up from the #5 position achieved a year ago (Q2 2003).
· #2 position in the Layer 3 or above switching market with 14% market share in terms of port shipment.

“We’re obviously very pleased with the Dell ‘Oro Group’s assessment of our business overseas, in addition to IDC’s analysis of the Australian market,” said Mark Berends, Australian HP ProCurve Networking Marketing Manager. “Australians continue to see great value in ProCurve products – particularly those which have a limited budget to buy equipment, such as schools, health facilities and government departments – where our lifetime warranty ensures there are no hidden costs.”

“Our value proposition of providing superior return on IT, reduced complexity, and increased security, reliability, choice and flexibility for today’s network continues to resonate with customers, as demonstrated by our continued growth,” said John McHugh, vice president and general manager, HP ProCurve Networking Business. “HP ProCurve’s innovative Adaptive EDGE Architecture, proven technology and industry-leading support create a secure and reliable networking infrastructure customers depend on for their mission-critical applications and data.”
