Sony plans to release a new VAIO model which features its sought-after multi-format DVDRW technology. The vendor has announced the GRV7P – a Pentium 4-powered notebook with a DVD drive that supports both +RW and –RW technology. Sony is also debuting its “Click to DVD” concept by which users can view, edit and burn home movies from a camcorder with a touch of a button. Sony sees the GRV7P as a desktop replacement — the notebook features a 60GB hard disk drive, 512MB of DDR SDRAM, three USB ports and a suite of software including Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 and Norton Antivirus 2002. It will be available on February 24.
