Allot Communications has announced two new entry-level NetEnforcer models designed to cope with congestion from peer-to-peer (P2P) applications and streaming video files. Instead of throwing bandwidth at the problem, NetEnforcer helps shape traffic through policy-based networking. The device lets managers monitor network applications, users and servers and to define policies that will guarantee the performance of business-critical applications in private networks, Internet connections and VPNs. The NetEnforcer AC-102 supports network traffic speeds up to 512 Kbps while the AC-202 supports network traffic speeds up to 10 Mbps. Both models feature an additional Ethernet port that allows IT managers to physically isolate network users from the management functions of the NetEnforcer. Both the NetEnforcer AC-102 and AC-202 are available through Techplus Distribution. Prices begin at $3500.
