Melbourne-based IT company Megatec, now known as Kanbay Australia, will hold a reunion next month to mark the 21st anniversary of the company’s formation.
Megatec developed customised software applications but was also a reseller of security and connectivity products. It was acquired by US-based Kanbay in 1999.
On November 9, former Megatec staff and their families will gather at Jells Park in Glen Waverley, Melbourne, for a BBQ and a couple of lemonades as well as to swap fond — and not so fond — memories from down the years.
Those attending will also raise a glass to acknowledge the recent retirement of company co-founder and managing director, Peter Spring. Fellow co-founder, Barry Gange, will also be in attendance.
Client engagement manager and event organiser, Owen Baker, has managed to round up more than 160 of the 344 past and present employees that have been through the Megatec doors over the years but it is never too late to add your name to the list.
Baker is apparently having trouble finding many Megateckers from before 1995 and ask anybody who knows one to point them to the reunion website at www.megatec.com.au/reunion.
