KAZ Group has signed a multi-million dollar deal to manage the IT environment of Australia’s largest non-bank lender, Aussie Group.
Under the terms of the deal, KAZ will be responsible for server and network management, desktop and PABX support, strategic technology planning and additional project-based services.
Aussie Group has a national network of offices in all major Australian capital cities with more than 450 mobile mortgage advisors.
KAZ CEO, Peter Kazacos, refused to reveal the names of competitors KAZ had beaten to win the tender but said it included all the usual multi-national suspects.
“The market has picked up a bit recently,” he said. “We have noticed improvements in the past few months but we have said that before and ended up back in the doldrums.
“We are currently bidding for a number of deals. There are more on the horizon than a few months ago and we are confident of winning our share.”
KAZ is still in the process of looking for a new CEO to allow Kazacos to take up a more strategic deputy chairman role. An appointment was still months away, Kazacos said.
“We’re not going to rush into this,” he said. “There are several candidates in the market who would like this job — some of whom are working for multi-nationals and would like to join an Australian company.”
