The Leading Edge Computers (LEC) group is encouraging its dealer members to begin selling its branded ISP service. Dealers are being introduced to the ISP offering at the group’s series of annual state meetings, which also includes seminars and a vendor trade show.
Along with the internet offering, LEC was also diversifying its telephany offerings, members were told at the NSW state meeting earlier this month.
The national ISP service, a product from LE Group stablemate Leading Edge Communications, will launch next month. The ISP offering comes as LEC offers cordless phones and faxes for the first time in its August catalogue.
Many Leading Edge stores were already selling ISP packages, LEC marketing co-ordinator, Craig Kirby, said. “A lot of our dealers are selling internet connectivity along with PCs. They’ve got the perfect channel to get it out.
“This way they are selling a Leading Edge product instead of a Telstra one.”
Leading Edge has wrapped up its annual state meetings for Qld, NSW and SA, and will bring its combination of seminars and trade show to WA, Victoria and Tasmania later this month.
One hundred and two NSW Leading Edge dealers and suppliers gathered for the Hunter Valley meeting earlier this month. Members attended seminars, including one by business consultant Ken Tickle, who provided advice on category and merchandise planning, and retail accounting.
