UEA takes Belkin north
Brisbane-based Universal Enterprise Australia (UEA) has been appointed as a Queensland sub-distributor of connectivity vendor Belkin. UEA will focus on marketing Belkin wireless networking and accessory products as well as its power protection range. The Queensland company, which makes its own products as well as distributing major brands, recently opened an office in Townsville to service its clients in the north of the state. A specialist in wireless LAN and mobility products, Belkin is distributed across Asia-Pacific by Ingram Micro. The three-way partnership is designed to give Belkin and Ingram Micro greater reach into the SMB and rural markets of Queensland.

Queensland-based wireless company, The Pulse Group, has signed a partnership agreement with Wireless Services Company (WSC) to provide SMS text messaging services across North and South America. US-based WSC develops and operates a range of data products including SMS and two-way messaging, wireless email, inter-carrier messaging interoperability and support for alternative billing methods. The combined products will initially be targeted at organisations in specific vertical markets including advertising, broadcasting, casinos, colleges and the US real estate industry. The Pulse Group is also negotiating partnership agreements with companies in the South African and UK markets. “This deal gives us direct access to the lucrative American wireless market with a focus on SMS growth,” said The Pulse Group director, Matthew Lambert.
