Novell plans Web-based customer support

In June, Novell plans to unveil a new customer support service that will enable users to submit trouble tickets and check on their status via the World Wide Web. Users also will be able to access information on products, partners and system issues such as server problems, said Richard Nortz, senior vice-president of Novell technical services.

Novell sources say the plan will enable users to solve site-specific problems rather than just general ones. The new Web page extends the support provided by Novell's NetWire support service offered on the Web and on CompuServe. The site's URL has not yet been determined.

Novell recently opened up a new Web page for Novell Certified NetWare Engineers (CNE) and Master CNE, which provides data on CNE programs. The site is at www.cne.org
