ICE blocks Internet raiders

MPA Systems is distributing new Unix firewall security software called ICE Block, which is intended to protect computer systems connected to the Internet from unauthorised access. According to MPA, ICE Block - manufactured by US Unix software developer James River Group - provides centralised control over every packet of information being sent to or received from the Internet.

"ICE Block's menu-based firewall management system provides extensive flexibility in the security configuration," said MPA managing director Guy Goodman. "A company's entire remote network (or just a single remote computer) can be granted either full access to the company's computer systems, or limited access on a service-by- service basis."
