More than 150 Australian and international exhibitors are gearing up for PC96 Brisbane, held May 14-16 at Brisbane's Convention and Exhibition Centre. Exhibition director Gabrielle Stephens says a number of manufacturers are debuting products at the show.
NetComm will demonstrate the capabilities of its new Enternet package, which includes the Roadster 28.8 modem with in-built fax switching, Netscape Navigator 2.0 software, five hours of free Internet access, the Australian Internet Guide and fax software "capable of turning a PC into a fax machine".
Barcode Products will display its new PPT 46700 Pen Computer, a 486-based full or half screen VGA, hand-held computer with advanced features including PCMCIA and Smart Card interfaces, a DOS/PEN or Windows-compatible operating system, as many as 1.1 kilobytes of memory, and scanning and wireless communications capabilities.
Multisource will demonstrate its newly developed Videogram Compression Technology that it says enables the production of highly compressed video files that can be downloaded from the Internet or sent via e-mail. The manufacturer says Videogram Compression can be used to fit a 60-second video onto a single 3.5-inch disk and video messages can be then distributed to almost any PC.
Smart Products will introduce its new Smart Organiser. According to the manufacturer, a Timex Data Link system enables the Smart Organiser to transfer data using Windows-based software. The organiser is equipped with a new RoyalGlo Nite VUE display.
