Start-up local networking company ServerTech has appointed Q*Soft and Clover Distribution as distributors for its speciality remote access products.
ServerTech managing director John Warwick says the two distributors will assist the company in making its mark in the remote access market. He added that ServerTech is looking to add more, non-competing national distributors to further this aim. "We're still looking for other distributors, but it's not on the basis of geographic coverage. We're looking for people with their own focus in the marketplace."
He said he was pleased that both distributors are able to bring specialist skills to distribution. "Q*Soft are very much a Microsoft house. Yes, they do sell modems and printers and PCs, but they are very much a Microsoft NT environment and that fits very well with our product.
"Clover are completely different, they are not operating system focused at all. Their expertise is in wireless communications and that sort of arena, and they come to our product from another environment."
Warwick said ServerTech will focus on moving the product through value added resellers and system integrators, who are able to understand and support the products. "We are prepared to provide a high degree of support, but realistically the person in front of the customer has got to have some affinity with the communication and wide-area networking type application. They are probably people who are trying to integrate this product into a complete offering.
"And the products are designed to be an extremely easy install, so it broadens the range of resellers that might use this product quite successfully."
