The convergence of telecommunications, entertainment and consumer electronics, and its impact on the information industry, will be the focus of Outlooks 97, to be held this year at the Sheraton on the Park, Sydney, on 25 November.
Organised by International Data Corporation, the conference is expected to attract Australian IT analysts and commentators drawn from IDC, industry associations and the media. A wide range of issues will be addressed this year including: preparing for Year 2000, outsourcing, deregulation and cyberspace opportunities.
"We aim to address directly and in a no-holds-barred way, the precise nature of the challenges facing business in this new era," said Len Rust, IDC vice-president.
"We're very pleased to have secured such a high-quality and knowledgeable group," he said. "Between them, they have both the background and vision to discuss, in a very meaningful and detailed way, the precise issues, technologies and views that are shaping the future of IT&T in Australia."
