SAP establishes Asia/Pacific region

SAP Australia and New Zealand have announced the creation of an Asia/Pacific region within the company's structure.

Les Hayman, managing director of SAP Australia and New Zealand, will take a dual role, having been named as president of the region which covers Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and India.

"Many of our customers are preparing to extend their operations through the Asia/Pacific region, and we intend to be right there beside them. The region is now an increasingly important focus for SAP and is large and mature enough to stand more independently in the SAP world," Hayman said.

SAP also created a northern Asia region covering Japan, Korea and Taiwan while a separate organisation will target future growth opportunities in China.
