Lotus Notes application developer Sentor Communications has earned a top-three placing for the second year running in the Beacon awards conducted at Lotusphere '97 business partner conference.
Sentor received the placing for two of its products, Streamlink and DocWatch, which were named in the Best Business Application and Best Systems Administra-tion Utility category respectively. DocWatch had previously been placed in the top three in its category at last year's awards.
Sentor managing director Martin Fisk said he is delighted with the result. "I think what it means to us is international recognition that the software produced out of Australia is equal if not better than a lot of the stuff produced in larger countries.
"As a company we spend a lot of time benchmarking ourselves, not just against Australian companies but international companies, because it's very easy to become insular in Australia. However, the people we're competing with today are overseas organisations. I believe a lot in what we're doing here in Australia, and it means a lot to us to be successful not just in Australia, but in the world market."
