The Australian Quality Council has launched an Internet site aiming to provide information to assist Australian businesses in becoming more competitive.
"The Benchmarking Edge" Web site at www.benchnet.com/aqc provides an infor-mation service to assist Australian business organisations in developing more competitive business practices to "achieve sustainable organisational excellence".
The online knowledge available includes advice on how to go about benchmarking, how to find suitable benchmark partners in Australia and overseas, and case studies and journal abstracts relating to outstanding business practices.
It is hoped the site will facilitate the sharing of information between organisations within Australia and internationally.
An online bulletin enables organisations to contact other organisations from Australia and 40 other countries.
To gain access to the site, joining and subscription fees are payable. For small businesses of less than 50 employees there is a $200 joining fee, and for larger businesses with over 50 employees it is $600; both joining fees include a password for a single user. There is a yearly subscription of $100 for each user thereafter.
