First there was Pentium, then there was Pentium Pro. Recently we saw the birth of the Pentium with MMX technology.
Now stand back for Pentium II, the most powerful processor it has released thus far. Available in 233, 266 and 300MHz varieties, the Pentium II combines Intel's Pentium Pro processor with MMX media enhancement technology and numerous other advances.
Sporting a new-look Single Edge Contact cartridge the Pentium II uses Dual Independent Bus architecture to overcome bandwidth limitations of previous processors, and dynamic execution technology for parallel processing of data.
At 7.5 million transistors it features over two million more than the Pentium Pro.
The 233 and 266MHz versions are available in Australia now, while the 300MHz version is expected to ship in Q3.
