Intel and Samsung have signed an agreement to work together on consumer electronics and computer products in the future, company officials announced today.
Intel is seeking to tap Samsung's strength in the consumer electronics market, and vice versa, said Howard High, an Intel spokesman. But it is too soon to say what new products or technologies the agreement might foster, he said.
"We [will] try to tap into the expertise of each company and see if there are products that we might be able to bring to market quicker or make adjustments to them that we think would make them more marketable," High said.
Intel has a similar agreement with Sony, High said. In addition to supplying Sony with microprocessors for its PCs, High said, Intel works with Sony to understand the consumer elec- tronics market and informs Sony about the PC market.
