Askey Australia has launched a new campaign to boost sales for its Dynalink Voice Pro 16-bit modems.
Anyone buying a modem will receive a coupon entitling them to a free, full-release version of either Internet Phone 4.0 from VocalTalk, Voice Guide interactive voice response system, or the game Quake, from the makers of Doom.
According to Askey sales manager Robert Vinokurov, the promotion is a means to differentiate his company's modems through added value, rather than through price-cutting. It is also transparent to the reseller, as Dynalink distributes the software titles.
"We thought we're going to do something different to everyone else, we're not going to follow the trend of this downward spiral in pricing," said Vinokurov. "We're going to offer a lot of value in our product at a very competitive price."
The featured modems are the VoiceCardPro internal and VoiceDeskPro external 33.6Kbit/ sec voice/fax/data modems, which Vinokurov says compete at the high end of the market. The VoiceDeskPro carries an RRP of $199 and dealer buy price of $140, while the VoiceCardPro has an RRP of $179 and dealer buy price of $125.
The promotion will run until Dynalink clears its stock of software.
