Internetworkers get Cisco-certified

Cisco Systems Australia has launched an internetworking certification course to be conducted at the new Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) Lab in Sydney.

The CCIE Lab, the first in Australia, will provide a testing and certification facility for internetworking skills of Cisco partners and customers.

The lab will assist resellers in gaining Cisco accreditation (resellers who wish to become silver or gold Cisco partners are required to have a number of CCIE graduates on staff).

To become a CCIE graduate, applicants must sit Cisco's Certified Internetwork Expert Qualification Test and gain a score of at least 65 per cent to be enrolled into the CCIE laboratory.

The certification course involves giving candidates difficult build, break and restore tasks. A mark of 80 per cent or greater is required to gain certification.
