Ozzie text searcher hits version five

Ozzie text searcher hits version five

Australian software developer Odyssey Development is now shipping the latest versions of its ISYS products, adding new features and up-to-date file compatibility. Both Isys and Isys Web are now at version five, and are useable on platforms from stand-alone PCs to huge distributed networks and the Internet. They come in 16 and 32-bit versions.

Odyssey claims that a major advance in this new version of Isys is indexing and searching e-mail, whether live or in an archive. Chief technology officer Ian Davies said the power of Isys was its ability to search across multiple data resources with a single search command, be they e-mail, spreadsheets, databases and knowledgebases and so on. The product automatically indexes new data and a "Super Sleuth" feature can be set to scan for new material that will be of interest to a user.

Isys v5 starts at $525 RRP and Isys Web v5 is $7500 ($975 upgrade from prior version 2).
