Simms International has added another string to its bow with its appointment by Digital Equipment Corporation to dis-tribute that company's Storage Works line of RAID disk storage products.
Until now, Simms has specialised in memory products from Kingston Technology, but Andrew Hilton, managing director of Simms, believes the move into storage products will generate more revenue for the rapidly expanding company than memory product.
"With StorageWorks, we are keen to explore markets that Digital and others haven't touched with the product line," said Hilton.
"This includes talking to resellers that specialise in systems from other vendors, including Sun, HP and the NT market," Hilton said.
One of the key features of Digital's StorageWorks line is its compatibility with numerous platforms including Unix, NT and Novell and its modular expansion capabilities. Simms is adding three dedicated staff to look after the StorageWorks line.
