MELBOURNE - Antivirus provider Dr Solomon's Software has established Australian operations after purchasing LoadPlan, its Australian distributor for the corporate market.
To be based in Melbourne, Dr Solomon's Software in Australia will be headed by general manager, Rob McGuirk.
"This move by Dr Solomon's Software is indicative of the strategic importance the company places on developing the Australian market and the wider Asia-Pacific region," McGuirk said.
According to a spokesperson for Dr Solomon's, the company holds an estimated 10 per cent of the antivirus market and hopes to have at least a 40 per cent share within the next three years.
The Dr Solomon's team in Australia will "bring international and technical expertise to the market and work closely with channel partners to increase product awareness and market penetration", a statement from the company said.
The Australian subsidiary will provide direct access for local users to Dr Solomon's around-the-clock service and support. Users can send a sample of a suspected virus by e-mail to Dr Solomon's antivirus research teams for detection, identification and disinfection.
