New palmtop boasts improved features

SYDNEY - The second generation of the Cassiopeia - the A-11A - was launched last week, boasting improved hardware and software features.

According to the distributor, Mobex, the improved features include a better LCD display and backlight, and a refined keyboard, with the keys now made of a stiffened rubber compound for increased durability and precision.

A 4Mb version of the new Cassiopeia is available now, with an $849 RRP, while a 6Mb model is to be released in September, at $999 RRP.

The Cassiopeia A-11A is bundled with a wider range of third-party software, including Symantec's pcANYWHERE and Internet connectivity software from Ozemail.

Also included is a range of applications (LandWare's Virtual Courier, Lite for Desktop, cc:Mail and MS Mail/Exchange) enabling the user to connect the Cassiopeia to LAN-based e-mail accounts.
